Airlines send the email as soon as your flight is over.
Amazon wants product feedback days after your purchase.
Dunkin’ asks me too (FYI, got this message as I was writing this)
I’m sure you’ve seen the smiley face buttons in bathrooms asking about your experience.
Everywhere you go these days it seems like everyone wants to know how you feel.
Why?
Your feedback (i.e data) is so valuable.
However, when I shop at a small business, I rarely get asked.
Did you know?
A 2022 Redpoint Global survey revealed that 74% of consumers feel that brand loyalty is about feeling understood and valued, rather than discounts and loyalty perks.
Additionally, 64% of those polled would rather purchase a product from a brand that knows them, and 34% would spend more money on a product to do so.

First thing to remember is to check your ego at the door.
The truth might hurt.
But losing market share will hurt more, trust me.

Simple. Email your customers.

Show me the survey
Create a survey. Keep it simple. Try using SurveyMonkey

Use paper
Have a store? At an event? Ask them to write a number 1-10

Face to Face

Post a chat. Engage with your customers.

Incentives for Feedback

Post Purchase Feedback
Amazon does this very well. Why not copy it?

I encourage you to try one of these today. Not tomorrow, not next week, today.
