π₯ Tips on Creating an Offer π₯
The voice was loud, yet subtle.
"Hey, do you want to see the banana show?"
That was the question my friends and I were asked while we strolled through the Red Light District in Amsterdam π¨
"WTF is the banana show?"
As other tourists, young and old, hustled on by, we were intrigued.
Our questions were flying out faster than shots at spring break in Cancun.
What happens at the banana show?
Who's involved?
How much?
Are any bananas hurt during the show?
You get the picture.
And his response was the same for all of them.
You got to come in and find out for yourself.
So nine of us, all agreed, we had to find out.
What is this banana show about?
We entered this establishment (I use those words loosely) with excitement and wonder.
I'm not going to share what happens at the banana show (yet).
But I did learn a valuable marketing lesson.
Which brings us to one of my favorite marketing topics.
β‘οΈ THE OFFER
Vito Corleone said it best in the Godfather:
"I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse..."
We are constantly bombarded with offers everyday.
β Buy 1, Get 1 Free
β Sign up in the next 1hr and receive a free army boot
β Good Only Until 12/31/22
β Up to 50% off
β 1st time customers receive a free hat
β No payments until 2023
You get it.
Now whatever your product or service is, create a specific offer.
Example:
Let's say you own an online candle business, like Rocking Candles
Some offers might include:
β Refer a friend and get 20% off next order
β Free shipping for new customers
β Free shipping for orders over $50
β Free USB lighters for orders over $100
β Join our candle club and receive VIP pricing
Get specific to your audience.
Is this offer for current customers?
Attracting new ones?
β What would get you to buy your offer?
β When was the last time you got hooked by an offer?
Whatβs Best Way to Use Offer?
Create multiple types of offers.
Put offers behind lead capture forms.
Use CTAs and put them in the right place
Create content around your offers
Leverage social media
Create different offers throughout the customer journey
Use them in lead nurturing and your email marketing
The offer is critical in engaging, attracting and retaining customers.
Remember to get out of your comfort zone and like Apple in the 80s
